How we make money

ISA Comparison earns money mainly through affiliate commission when you open an account through some of our links. Commission never changes the order of our rate tables.

Affiliate commission

When you open certain accounts through a link on this site, the provider may pay us a commission. Every link that can pay us commission is marked "Ad", clearly and before you click it, not in small print at the bottom of the page.

Not every account we list pays us anything. Accounts that pay us nothing are listed in our tables on exactly the same terms as accounts that do.

What commission never does

Our Cash ISA tables are ranked by rate: AER for standard accounts, and expected profit rate for Islamic (halal) accounts, shown separately from the AER figures, never mixed into the same order. Commission has no part in that ranking. A provider cannot pay to move up a table, and we don't move a paying account above a better-rated one that pays us nothing.

See how we rank our tables for exactly how that works and what qualifies for one.

Cash ISAs, and Stocks and Shares, Lifetime and Junior ISAs

A Cash ISA is a savings account, so we name and compare specific banks and building societies directly. For Stocks and Shares ISAs, Lifetime ISAs and Junior ISAs, our guides explain the rules in general terms and do not recommend or name specific investment providers to invest through. Where we do compare specific Stocks and Shares platforms, such as in a fee table, that's a comparison of published charges, not a recommendation, and pages like that carry a capital-at-risk warning.

Other income

Affiliate commission is our main income today. We may add display advertising or newsletter sponsorship in future. If we do, we'll say so on this page, and any sponsored content will be labelled clearly, the same way affiliate links are.
