Transferring an ISA to or from M&S Bank
All 4 of M&S Bank's adult Cash ISAs accept transfers in from other providers.
How to move an ISA to M&S Bank
- You complete one of M&S Bank's transfer forms and send it back, and M&S Bank then contacts your current ISA manager to begin the transfer.
- M&S Bank's transfer forms cover an existing cash ISA or stocks and shares ISA, while innovative finance ISAs and Lifetime ISAs are transferred in by phone.
- Money paid into the old ISA in the current tax year must be transferred in full, while money paid in previous tax years can be transferred in whole or in part.
- The minimum deposit into each fixed rate bond is £500, and there is no limit on the amount you can transfer in.
How long a transfer takes
For a transfer out, M&S Bank says it makes the transfer within 5 working days of the other ISA manager's request. gov.uk says ISA transfers should take no longer than 15 working days between Cash ISAs, and 30 calendar days for other types of transfer.
Moving an ISA away from M&S Bank
From the Variable Rate Savings option, previous years' money can move in whole or in part, but current tax year money and money in a Fixed Rate Savings option must move in full. Moving a fixed rate bond to another ISA provider before the term ends costs £50 for a 1 year bond, £75 for a 2 year bond or £100 for a 3 year bond. If you cancel within the 30 day period, you can keep the tax benefit by transferring the account to another provider with no charge, using the new provider's transfer application. You can move a Cash ISA from M&S Bank to another provider at any time. Ask the new provider to arrange the transfer: if you take the money out yourself, it leaves the ISA and paying it in again uses your allowance. A fixed rate ISA usually charges for leaving before the end of its term. See how ISA transfers work.
Transfer details checked on M&S Bank's own website on 9 October 2026.
Is the M&S Bank ISA flexible?
None of M&S Bank's adult Cash ISAs is a flexible ISA, so money you take out and pay back in counts towards your allowance again.
