Transferring an ISA to or from TSB
All 5 of TSB's adult Cash ISAs accept transfers in from other providers.
How to move an ISA to TSB
- In the TSB app, you open the TSB ISA first, then tap it, choose "Manage" and select "Transfer ISA in".
- A transfer can also be started in Internet Banking, in person at a TSB branch or with the ISA transfer form.
- TSB accepts transfers of cash ISAs, stocks and shares ISAs and Innovative Finance ISAs, although an Innovative Finance ISA transfer needs a visit to a branch.
- TSB can only accept whole transfers of current tax year subscriptions and interest.
- There is no limit on how many ISAs from previous tax years can be moved, and they do not affect the allowance for the current year.
- A TSB Fixed Rate Cash ISA must receive all deposits, including transfers, within 30 days of opening.
How long a transfer takes
TSB says a cash ISA will take no more than 15 working days to transfer. For a transfer out, TSB says it normally sends the money to the new ISA provider within 5 working days of receiving the transfer application. gov.uk says ISA transfers should take no longer than 15 working days between Cash ISAs, and 30 calendar days for other types of transfer.
Moving an ISA away from TSB
Money saved in previous tax years can be transferred in full or in part, but money saved in the current tax year must be transferred in full. A TSB Fixed Rate Cash ISA transferred to another provider more than 14 days after opening carries a charge. The charge is the interest on the amount transferred for 135 days on an 18 month term, 180 days on a 2 year term and 270 days on a 3 year term. You can move a Cash ISA from TSB to another provider at any time. Ask the new provider to arrange the transfer: if you take the money out yourself, it leaves the ISA and paying it in again uses your allowance. A fixed rate ISA usually charges for leaving before the end of its term. See how ISA transfers work.
Transfer details checked on TSB's own website on 9 October 2026.
Is the TSB ISA flexible?
All 5 of TSB's adult Cash ISAs are flexible, so you can take money out and put it back in the same tax year without using more of your allowance.
