Transferring an ISA to or from Zopa
All 6 of Zopa's adult Cash ISAs accept transfers in from other providers.
How to move an ISA to Zopa
- You need to open a Zopa Cash ISA before you can transfer in any existing ISAs, and Zopa says the quickest way to start a transfer is the 'Ask' tab.
- Zopa takes Cash ISA and stocks and shares ISA transfers from all providers that use Pay.UK, and a stocks and shares ISA is converted into a Cash ISA.
- You can transfer the whole ISA balance or only some of it, but some ISA providers do not allow partial transfers, so the other provider needs checking first.
- Each transfer in opens a new Easy Access ISA pot within your existing Cash ISA, and once the transfer completes you can move the money and keep or delete the pot.
- Zopa requires a minimum transfer in of £500 and charges no fees for transfers into a Zopa Cash ISA, but says to check with your current provider whether it does.
- You can transfer as many ISAs to Zopa as you like, but only one at a time, so one transfer must complete before the next is started.
How long a transfer takes
Zopa says transferring a Zopa Cash ISA to another type of ISA, such as a stocks and shares ISA, can take up to 30 business days. gov.uk says ISA transfers should take no longer than 15 working days between Cash ISAs, and 30 calendar days for other types of transfer.
Moving an ISA away from Zopa
Zopa allows partial transfers out for Easy Access Cash ISA pots only, and a partial transfer leaves the remaining Cash ISA balance and any pots not included open. Breaking a Fixed Term pot early costs 90, 180, 270, 320 or 365 days of interest for a 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 year term, and Zopa deducts it before transferring. The new provider's transfer form asks for the Zopa ISA roll number, which is the Cash ISA reference number in the 'Save & Invest' tab, not an account number or sort code. You can move a Cash ISA from Zopa to another provider at any time. Ask the new provider to arrange the transfer: if you take the money out yourself, it leaves the ISA and paying it in again uses your allowance. A fixed rate ISA usually charges for leaving before the end of its term. See how ISA transfers work.
Transfer details checked on Zopa's own website on 9 October 2026.
Is the Zopa ISA flexible?
1 of Zopa's 6 adult Cash ISAs are flexible: Smart ISA (Easy Access pot). With a flexible ISA you can take money out and put it back in the same tax year without using more of your allowance.
