How many Cash ISAs accept transfers in?
172 of the 184 Cash ISAs in our tables accept transfers in: 60 of 64 easy access, 106 of 114 fixed rate and all 6 notice. The other 12 do not. The "Transfers in" line on each card shows Yes or No. Islamic Cash ISAs are compared separately on our Halal ISA page, so they are not counted here.
The two tables above hold the easy access and fixed rate accounts. The 6 notice Cash ISAs that accept transfers in are ranked on the notice Cash ISA page.
How do you transfer a Cash ISA?
You can transfer all or part of your ISA savings to another provider at any time. To switch, contact the provider you want to move to and fill out an ISA transfer form. gov.uk adds: "If you withdraw the money without doing this, you will not be able to reinvest that part of your tax-free allowance again".
A transfer is not a new payment, so it does not count towards your £20,000 yearly allowance. gov.uk says transfers between cash ISAs should take no longer than 15 working days. See how ISA transfers work.
Can a transfer cost anything?
Providers may make you pay a charge to transfer. HMRC's guidance says a fixed-term product may incur an exit penalty on transfer, and you can ask for the transfer to happen when the product matures. To see what a charge would cost on your own savings, use our fixed rate ISA penalty calculator.
Is the transfer block still planned?
HMRC had planned that, from 6 April 2027, savers who are 64 or under at the end of the tax year could not transfer a Stocks and Shares or Innovative Finance ISA into a Cash ISA. The Budget documents on 28 October 2026 do not mention it, and press reports say it is not going ahead as planned, so we treat it as unconfirmed. See ISA transfers and the Cash ISA limit for what we know.

Does a transfer use up my ISA allowance?
No. A transfer is not a new payment, so it does not count towards the £20,000 yearly allowance. If you withdraw the money instead of using a transfer form, gov.uk says you will not be able to reinvest that part of your tax-free allowance again. See how ISA transfers work.
